Description

Rosina Pellets, 15 kg per bag

A single bag is the smallest quantity we sell, and the most convenient way to try out a new brand. Rosina Pellets are ENplus A1 certified softwood pellets (Pinus), pressed from wood shavings produced in-house, without any chemical additives or binders.

From a door factory to pellets

Rosina has been manufacturing doors and timber profiles in Rio dos Cedros, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina – the heart of the country’s largest pine reforestation project – since 1989. Every day, the planing and milling of all this timber produces clean wood shavings, and it is precisely this by-product that is compressed into pellets at the company’s own factory. No extra trees are felled to produce these pellets: it is timber that was already there, and which would otherwise have been waste.

Production is fully automated and takes place without any chemical additives, starch or binding agents. The pellets are held together solely by the lignin naturally present in the wood. So what you put into your stove is nothing more than compressed softwood.

How long does one bag of pellets last?

A pellet stove consumes roughly 1 to 2 kg per hour, depending on the setting, the output of your stove and the insulation of your home. One 15 kg bag will therefore last for about a full day’s heating at an average setting, or for three to four evenings if you only heat in the evenings. During the coldest weeks, most families use about one bag a day.

When do you buy pellets by the bag?

You’ll want to try out Rosina Pellets in your own stove first before buying a pallet, as every stove reacts slightly differently to different types of pellets. It’s nearing the end of winter and you’ve still got a few days to get through. Or perhaps you only light a cosy fire one evening a week, in which case a whole pallet is simply too much. In all these cases, a single bag is the logical choice.

Storage and handling

A 15 kg bag is light enough to lift without help and will fit in a storage room, a garage or under the stairs. Store the bags in a dry place and off the floor, for example on a shelf or an empty pallet. Pellets are compressed wood: if they absorb moisture, they will swell, crumble and block your stove’s feed mechanism. If a bag tears, it’s best to transfer the contents to a sealable bucket or barrel.

Per bag or per pallet?

You pay the highest price per kilo per bag – that’s just the way it is: each bag is handled separately. For half a winter’s supply or a smaller storage space, take a look at the Rosina Pellets: half a pallet containing 33 bags. If you heat your home for a full season, then the Rosina Pellets – a full pallet containing 65 bags the best value for money per bag.

Why Rosina Pellets?

With just one bag, you can immediately see what matters: uniform pellets, minimal dust at the bottom and a steady, constant flame. Rosina Pellets are ENplus A1-certified pine pellets with a high calorific value, a low ash content and a mechanical durability of at least 98%, ensuring that few pellets crumble during transport.

ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term, but a standard that is subject to monitoring: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put into your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
