Description

Fire Sticks Pellets per half-pallet: 33 bags of 15 kg

It’s the middle ground: you buy by the pallet, so you pay less per bag than those who buy individually, but you don’t need to be able to use up a whole pallet weighing nearly a tonne. Fire Sticks Pellets are ENplus A1-certified wood pellets made from 100% pure softwood, pressed from fully debarked logs.

Half a pallet consists of 33 15-kg bags, totalling 495 kg

Who is a half-pallet intended for?

For those who use pellets as a supplementary fuel rather than for their main heating, for a flat or a smaller home, and for anyone with a storeroom or garage that is too small to accommodate a full pallet or through which a full pallet won’t fit. Even those buying Fire Sticks by the pallet for the first time often start with half a pallet: you want to see how far they’ll take you before stocking up for a whole season.

How long will 33 bags last?

With an average consumption of around one bag per heating day, half a pallet will last well over a month in the depths of winter. If you only heat in the evenings, you can easily get two to three months‘ worth out of it. Half a pallet provides around 2,300 to 2,500 kWh of heat, which is a useful benchmark for comparison with gas or electricity.

Why debarked timber makes all the difference

What sets Fire Sticks apart is not what’s in the pellet, but what’s deliberately left out: the bark. The logs are completely debarked before being chipped and compressed. This is because the bark is the part of the tree that contains the most sand, minerals and impurities, and that is precisely the main source of ash and build-up in your fire pit.

The raw material is 100% pure softwood, mainly spruce, sourced from wood processing waste that would otherwise be discarded. No chemical additives, starch or binding agents are used: the pellets are held together by the lignin naturally present in the wood. The result is a clean, dry pellet that burns efficiently and leaves little residue.

Delivery and location

Half a pallet weighs almost half a tonne and is delivered on a pallet. Make sure you have a flat, accessible area where the delivery can be placed, and sufficient space to carry the bags inside afterwards. If the pallet is to be left outside, cover it and raise it off the ground. The plastic film wrapped around the pallet is for transport purposes only; it is not intended to protect the contents from the rain for months on end.

Half a pallet, a single bag or a full pallet?

If you only need a few bags, you can buy them individually as Fire Sticks Pellets, 15 kg bag. If you heat your home for a whole season and have the space, then the Fire Sticks Pellets – a full pallet containing 65 bags even better value per bag. If you’re unsure about the space: measure your doorway first, not your storage room. Most people who end up opting for half a pallet do so because the doorway is too narrow, not because the room is too small.

Why Fire Sticks Pellets

When it comes to 33 bags, what really counts is how much ash you end up carrying out. A pellet made from debarked heartwood leaves noticeably less ash behind than one where the bark has been pressed in, and that makes a difference when it comes to emptying ash pans, scraping out the firebox and preventing build-up on the heat exchanger. Over half a pallet, that difference really adds up.

ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term, but a standard that is subject to monitoring: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put into your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
