Description

Rosina Pellets per half-pallet: 33 15-kg bags

It’s the middle ground: you buy by the pallet and so pay less per bag than those who buy in single bags, but you don’t need to be able to use up a whole pallet weighing nearly a tonne. Rosina Pellets are ENplus A1-certified softwood pellets (Pinus), pressed from wood shavings from our own timber processing, without any additives or binders.

Half a pallet consists of 33 15-kg bags, totalling 495 kg

Who is a half-pallet intended for?

For those who use pellets as a supplementary fuel rather than as their sole source of heating, for a flat or a smaller home, and for anyone with a storeroom or garage that cannot accommodate a full pallet or through which a full pallet won’t fit. Even those buying Rosina by the pallet for the first time often start with half a pallet: you see how far it takes you before stocking up for a full season.

How long will 33 bags last?

With an average consumption of around one bag per heating day, half a pallet will last well over a month in the depths of winter. If you only heat in the evenings, you can easily get two to three months‘ worth out of it. Half a pallet provides around 2,300 to 2,500 kWh of heat, which is a useful benchmark for comparison with gas or electricity.

Extracted from the waste stream of a door factory

Rosina has been manufacturing doors and timber profiles in Rio dos Cedros, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina – the heart of the country’s largest pine reforestation project – since 1989. Every day, the planing and milling of all this timber produces clean wood shavings, and it is precisely this by-product that is compressed into pellets at the company’s own factory. No extra trees are felled to produce these pellets: it is timber that was already there, and which would otherwise have been waste.

Production is fully automated and takes place without any chemical additives, starch or binding agents. The pellets are held together solely by the lignin naturally present in the wood. So what you put into your stove is nothing more than compressed softwood.

Delivery and location

Half a pallet weighs almost half a tonne and is delivered on a pallet. Make sure you have a flat, accessible area where the delivery can be placed, and sufficient space to carry the bags inside afterwards. If the pallet is to be left outside, cover it and raise it off the ground. The plastic film wrapped around the pallet is for transport purposes only; it is not intended to protect the contents from the rain for months on end.

Half a pallet, a single bag or a full pallet?

If you only need a few bags, you can buy them individually as Rosina Pellets, 15 kg bag. If you heat your home for a whole season and have the space, then the Rosina Pellets – a full pallet containing 65 bags even better value per bag. If you’re unsure about the space: measure your doorway first, not your storage room. Most people who end up opting for half a pallet do so because the doorway is too narrow, not because the room is too small.

Why Rosina Pellets?

With 33 bags, it is the consistency of the pellets that matters most. As the raw material is a single, pure residual stream from a single factory – rather than a varying mix of wood types – the pellets remain consistent from bag to bag: same length, same density, same combustion. Your stove runs on a single setting rather than having to readjust it every few bags.

ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term, but a standard that is subject to monitoring: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put into your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
