Description
Graanul Pellets per half-pallet: 33 x 15 kg bags
It’s the middle ground: you buy by the pallet and therefore pay less per bag than those who buy individually, but you don’t need to be able to use up a whole pallet weighing nearly a tonne. Graanul Pellets are softwood pellets from Graanul Invest, Europe’s largest pellet producer, and are double-certified to ENplus A1 and DINplus standards.
Half a pallet consists of 33 15-kg bags, totalling 495 kg
Who is a half-pallet intended for?
For those who use pellets as a supplementary fuel rather than for their sole heating source, for a flat or a smaller home, and for anyone with a storeroom or garage that cannot accommodate a full pallet or through which a full pallet won’t fit. Even those buying Graanul by the pallet for the first time often start with half a pallet: you want to see how far it goes before stocking up for a full season.
How long will 33 bags last?
With an average consumption of around one bag per heating day, half a pallet will last well over a month in the depths of winter. If you only heat in the evenings, you can easily get two to three months‘ worth out of it. Half a pallet provides around 2,300 to 2,500 kWh of heat, which is a useful benchmark for comparison with gas or electricity.
Baltic softwood, double-inspected
Graanul Invest was founded in Estonia in 2003 and has grown to become Europe’s largest wood pellet producer, with factories in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The raw material is softwood – pine and spruce – sourced from the Baltic forestry and wood-processing industries, a region where wood has been the primary raw material for generations.
That scale is not just an abstract figure to you, but a mark of quality. A manufacturer who produces millions of bags a year continuously refines its process and ensures the grain remains consistent batch after batch. Furthermore, every bag bears two independent quality marks: ENplus A1 under certificate EE 301 and DINplus under registration 7A157. Both are printed on the yellow bag, together with the barcode, so that every delivery can be traced.
Delivery and location
Half a pallet weighs almost half a tonne and is delivered on a pallet. Make sure you have a flat, accessible area where the delivery can be placed, and sufficient space to carry the bags inside afterwards. If the pallet is to be left outside, cover it and raise it off the ground. The plastic film wrapped around the pallet is for transport purposes only; it is not intended to protect the contents from the rain for months on end.
Half a pallet, a single bag or a full pallet?
If you only need a few bags, you can buy them individually as Graanul Pellets, 15 kg bag. If you heat your home for a whole season and have the space, then the Graanul Pellets: a full pallet containing 65 bags even better value per bag. If you’re unsure about the space: measure your doorway first, not your storage room. Most people who end up opting for half a pallet do so because the doorway is too narrow, not because the room is too small.
Why Graanul Pellets?
When it comes to 33 bags, it is the consistency of the pellets that matters most. This is precisely where the Graanul scale makes the difference: a fully continuous process that is constantly adjusted ensures that the pellets remain consistent from bag to bag. Same length, same density, same combustion: your stove runs on a single setting, rather than having to readjust it every few bags.
ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term but a standard subject to verification: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. Graanul goes one step further and has its pellets certified to DINplus as well, involving two independent checks on the same bag. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put in your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
