Description

Graanul Pellets, 15 kg per bag

A single bag is the smallest quantity we sell, and the most convenient way to try out a new brand. Graanul Pellets are ENplus A1 certified softwood pellets from Graanul Invest, Europe’s largest pellet producer, and they also carry the DINplus quality mark.

The yellow bag from Europe’s largest manufacturer

Graanul Invest was founded in Estonia in 2003 and has grown to become Europe’s largest wood pellet producer, with factories in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The raw material is softwood – pine and spruce – sourced from the Baltic forestry and wood-processing industries, a region where wood has been the primary raw material for generations.

That scale is not just an abstract figure to you, but a mark of quality. A manufacturer who produces millions of bags a year continuously refines its process and ensures the grain remains consistent batch after batch. Furthermore, every bag bears two independent quality marks: ENplus A1 under certificate EE 301 and DINplus under registration 7A157. Both are printed on the yellow bag, together with the barcode, so that every delivery can be traced.

How long does one bag of pellets last?

A pellet stove consumes roughly 1 to 2 kg per hour, depending on the setting, the output of your stove and the insulation of your home. One 15 kg bag will therefore last for about a full day’s heating at an average setting, or for three to four evenings if you only heat in the evenings. During the coldest weeks, most families use about one bag a day.

When do you buy pellets by the bag?

You’ll want to try Graanul in your own stove first before buying a pallet, as every stove reacts slightly differently to a different type of pellet. It’s nearing the end of winter and you’ve still got a few days to get through. Or perhaps you only light a cosy fire one evening a week, in which case a pallet is simply too much. In all these cases, a single bag is the logical choice.

Storage and handling

A 15 kg bag is light enough to lift without help and will fit in a storage room, a garage or under the stairs. Store the bags in a dry place and off the floor, for example on a shelf or an empty pallet. Pellets are compressed wood: if they absorb moisture, they will swell, crumble and block your stove’s feed mechanism. If a bag tears, it’s best to transfer the contents to a sealable bucket or barrel.

Per bag or per pallet?

You pay the highest price per kilo per bag – that’s just the way it is: each bag is handled separately. For half a winter’s supply or a smaller storage space, take a look at the Graanul Pellets half-pallet with 33 bags. If you heat your home for a full season, then the Graanul Pellets: a full pallet containing 65 bags the best value for money per bag.

Why Graanul Pellets?

With just one bag, you can see straight away what matters: a uniform grain, minimal dust at the bottom and a steady, consistent flame. Graanul Pellets are double-certified softwood pellets, ENplus A1 and DINplus, with a high calorific value and low ash content.

ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term but a standard subject to verification: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. Graanul goes one step further and has its pellets certified to DINplus as well, involving two independent checks on the same bag. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put in your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
