Description

Agricola Pellets per half-pallet: 33 bags of 15 kg

Half a pallet consists of 33 bags of 15 kg, totalling 495 kg. It’s a middle ground: you buy by the pallet and therefore pay less per bag than those who buy in single bags, but you don’t need to be able to take on a full pallet weighing almost a tonne. Agricola Pellets are pressed from 100% softwood, without additives or bark, and are ENplus A1 certified.

Who is a half-pallet intended for?

For those who use pellets as a supplementary fuel rather than as their sole heating source, for a flat or a smaller home, and for anyone with a storage room or garage that cannot accommodate a full pallet or through which it won’t fit through the door. Even those buying by the pallet for the first time often start with half a pallet: you see how far it takes you before stocking up for a full season.

How long will 33 bags last?

With an average consumption of around one bag per day of heating, half a pallet will last for well over a month in the depths of winter. If you only heat in the evenings, it will easily last two to three months. In the mid-season, when the stove is only used to ward off the bitterest cold, half a pallet will often last a whole autumn.

Half a pallet provides approximately 2,300 to 2,500 kWh of heat, depending on the calorific value of the pellets and the efficiency of your stove. This is a useful benchmark if you want to know how pellets compare in cost to gas or electricity.

How much space do you need?

Half a pallet fits on a standard Euro pallet measuring 80 by 120 cm and is about one metre high. So allow for just over one square metre of floor space, plus room to walk round it. If you stack the bags in a rack, you’ll distribute the weight more evenly and keep the passageway clear. Bear in mind the load-bearing capacity of an attic floor: 495 kg in one spot is a lot.

Delivery and location

Half a pallet weighs almost half a tonne and is delivered on a pallet. Make sure you have a flat, accessible area where the delivery can be placed, and sufficient space to carry the bags inside afterwards. If the pallet is to be left outside, cover it and raise it off the ground. The plastic film wrapped around the pallet is for transport purposes only; it is not intended to protect the contents from the rain for months on end.

Half a pallet, a single bag or a full pallet?

If you only need a few bags, you can buy them individually as Agricola Pellets, 15 kg bag. If you heat your home for a whole season and have the space, then the Agricola Pellets – a full pallet containing 65 bags even better value per bag. If you’re unsure about the space: measure your doorway first, not your storage room. Most people who end up opting for half a pallet do so because the doorway is too narrow, not because the room is too small.

Why Agricola Pellets?

When it comes to 33 bags, it’s the ash content that matters most. Every percentage point of ash you don’t burn means one less ash pan to empty and one less heat exchanger to clear of blockages. Agricola Pellets are pressed from 100% softwood, without additives or bark, and are ENplus A1 certified. You’ll notice the difference in maintenance: less cleaning-out, and a window that stays clear for longer.

ENplus A1 is not merely a marketing term, but a standard that is subject to monitoring: it sets limits on ash content, moisture content, density and the amount of fine dust, and it requires the manufacturer to ensure traceability. For you, this is the simplest guarantee that what you put into your stove is actually what is stated on the bag.
